Kenneth S. 'Ken' Pease, 69, of Clara, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2012 in Bradford Regional Medical Center, Bradford, after a long illness.
Born March 11, 1943 in Coudersport, he was a son of Kenneth Randall and Martie D. Holter Pease. On May 29, 1965 in Millport, he married Linda J. Graves, who survives.
Mr. Pease attended Oswayo Valley High School in Shinglehouse. He was self employed, owning and operating an excavating business. He also was employed as roadmaster for Clara Township for over 20 years.
He enjoyed hunting and in his earlier years, fishing. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, having enjoyed go cart racing together.
Surviving besides his wife, are a son, Michael S. (Cheryl) Pease of Clara; a grandson, Kyle S. Pease; a granddaughter, Kelsie L. Pease; two sisters, Kathryn I. Duell of Coudersport and Carolyn B. Pease of Clara; a brother, Randall S. “Jack” (Janice) Pease of Shinglehouse; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Pease was predeceased by a daughter, Sandra L. “Sandy” Pease; three sisters, Patricia D. “Pat” Sherwood, Charlotte A. Brooks, and Phyllis M. Pease; a brother, Donald H. Pease; and two half sisters, Marjorie Pease and Elaine Gardner.
At Ken’s request, there will be no public visitation. Friends are invited to attend a graveside memorial service on Monday, June 25, 2012 at 11 a.m. in Maple Grove Cemetery, Shinglehouse, with the Rev. Becky L. Edwards, pastor of the Shinglehouse United Methodist Church, officiating.
Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse, PA.
