Obituary: DR. J. A WOODARD, SHINGLEHOUSE, DIES

SHINGLEHOUSE -- Dr. James Alban Woodard, a veterinarian here since 1910, died Tuesday (September 19, 1944) at his home.

Born at Richburg, N.Y., May 2, 1875, he served as postmaster here for 10 years. He was a member of Sharon Lodge, No. 398, Shinglehouse; Knights Templar, Coudersport; and Shrine Joffa Temple, Altoona, Pa.

Surviving besides his widow, Mrs. Ina Woodard, are one daughter, Mrs. John Pearsall of Shinglehouse, and a brother-in-law, A. B. Marchisi of Olean.

Funeral Services will be held at the late home Thursday afternoon (September 21, 1944) at 3 o'clock. The Rev. D. L. Moody of the local Methodist church will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove cemetery here.

SHINGLEHOUSE --Funeral services for Dr. James A. Woodard were held at the late home, Oswayo Street, here, Thursday afternoon, September 21, 1944, at 3 o'clock. The Rev. D. L. Moody, pastor of the Methodist Church officiated. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery here.

Pallbearers were U. S. Dodge, E. E. Patchen, H.P. Toner, F. L. Bunker, C. C. VanDeboe and F. J. Green.

Relatives and friends attending the services from out of town included: M. J. Woodard, Galeton; George Woodard, Richburg; Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Marchisi, E. M. Jackie, W. J. Fyan, Mrs. Gertrude Freeman, Mrs. Mayme Smith all of Olean; Dr. and Mrs. Wiley, Wellsboro, Pa.; M.S. Simpson, Port Allegany, Pa.; Mr. and Mrs. Claahan, Bradford.

Mrs. John Chamberlain, Mrs. Mary Failing, Miss Nellie Stephens, all of Coudersport; James Milgate, Bolivar; Mr. and Mrs. Cletus Stumphf, Portville.
