Obituary:
MRS.BELA KEMP

Mrs. Bela Kemp of Eleven Mile died at the home of her daughter Mrs. Fred Dunshie of Olean, Thursday morning February 7.1929, where she had gone two weeks previous to receive medical help. Although her health had not been very good for several months she was not considered dangerously ill until but a few hours before she passed away. Everything loving hands could do was done for her but she was too weak to rally from an attack of cold and grip.

Sarah Elliott was born in the town of Wellsville on February 23, 1853 and when a child moved with her parents to Eleven Mile where she has always resided. In November 1866 she was united in marriage to Bela Kemp and they lived together more than half a century, Mr. Kemp dying seven years ago. To this union were born five children; Fred, Eva, Ernest, Ora and Clarence, all of whom survive with the exception of Fred, who died fifteen years ago. Mrs. Kemp is also survived by an adopted daughter, Mrs. Claude Crandall of Alma, N.Y, and 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

The subject of this sketch was a fine christian woman in all sense of the word, having been a member of the United Brethren Church for more than fifty years. Her's was a life of service, her thoughts always of others not only in her own family but thruout the neighborhood where ever there was sickness or distress. She was a great lover of children and seemed never so happy as when she could gather around her a group of young folks or little ones and engage in lively conversation with them, always pointing them to the higher and nobler things in life.

Her taking away will be keenly felt in the family circle but we can say as St. Paul, "she fought a good fight, she finished her course, she kept her faith."

Funeral service was at the Chrystal church Saturday afternoon, conducted by Rev C.B. Kinney of Buffalo, N.Y., a former pastor. Mrs. Edward Ebeling and Mrs. Ernest Barton very sweetly sang two selections. She was laid to rest in the family plot in the nearby cemetery. Hunt, Morton of Shinglehouse were the directors.
