Died Friday Evening, Funeral Held Monday


Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon, December 27, 1948, for Ernest Leslie Kemp, a life long resident od the Eleven Mile, with a prayer service at the Morton Funeral Home at one thirty o'clock followed by services at the Evangelical United Brethren Church of Chrystal at two thirty o'clock. The Rev Harry Andorf, pastor, officiated. Burial was in Chrystal Cemetery.

The pall bearers were Ernest Rathbun, Earle Hyde, Charles Klos, Robert Ellis, Max Dunshie, James Daily.

Among the relatives and friends attending the services from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Earl Estes, Mrs. Eva Estes, Miss Betty Estes of Olean; Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Estes of Limestone, N.Y.; Mr. and Mrs. Claude Crandall of Alma; Clarence Kemp Jr., of Lancaster, N.Y.

Mr. Kemp died on Friday evening, December 24, 1948, in the Blossburg State Hospital after an illness of a year.

He was born January 14, 1878, in Eleven Mile and was married to Harriet Phillips. She preceded him in death five years ago.

He was a farmer by occupation.

Surviving are two brothers, Ora Kemp of Eleven Mile and Clarence Kemp of Shinglehouse; two sisters, Mrs. Fred Dunshie of Eleven Mile and Mrs. Claude Crandall of Alma; and several nieces and nephews.
