SHINGLEHOUSE - Mrs. Alta Kemp. Eleven Mile, died Wednesday (March 23. 1960) at the home of Mrs. Helen Lawton, Coneville, Pa.. where be had made her home for the past two years, after a long illness.
Mrs. Kemp was born Nov. 18. 1885 at Wellsville. N.Y . the daughter of the late J. E. Jones and Sarah Foland Jones. She was married to Ora Kemp in 1904, who preceded her in death in 1957.
Survivors include one daughter. Mrs. Harold Higley. Shinglehouse: three sons, Murray Kemp, Carrol Kemp and Lynn Kemp all of Eleven Mile; 13 grandchildren, six great grandchildren; three sisters. Mrs. Ethel Harder, Dunedin, Fla., Mrs. Jessie Dunshie. Dunedin, Fla., and Mrs. Stanley Pearsall, Oswayo, Pa.; four brothers, Thurber Jones, Wellsville, Harry E. Jones, Eleven Miles, J. D. Jones, Shinglehouse, and Phillip W. Jones, Bolivar. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Mrs. Kemp was a member ot the Evangelical United Brethren Church of Chrystal.
Friends may call at the home of her son, Lynn Kemp, Eleven Miles, where a prayer service will be conducted at l:30 p.m. Satur day (March 26, 1960). Funeral services will be conducted from the Chrystal Evangelical United Brethren Church at 2 p.m. The Rev. Harold West, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Chrystal Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Chrystal E.U.B. Church Memorial Fund. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Howard Funeral Home, Shinglhouse.
