Clarence James
Funeral services were conducted Friday for Clarence James who died last Wednesday at his home in Shinglehouse, Pa. He was the brother of Mr. Leon Graves and Leonard James of Richburg.
The Rev. George Snow, pastor of the Shinglehouse Methodist Church, officiated at the Howard Funeral Home in Shinglehouse. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery there.Mr. James was born in Shinglehouse on April 21, 1890, a son of Chester and Rose Gay James. He was married in 1911 to the former Mabel Terwilliger, who survives.
In addition to his widow, sister and brother, he is survived by two sons, Lester of Bradford, Pa. and Stanley of Rochester; five daughters, Mrs. Frederick Ervin and Mrs. Robert Stoll, both of Allentown, Mrs. Pauline Sprague of Duke Center, Pa., Mrs. Vivian Hamilton of Derby, and Mrs. Charles Ganoung Jr. of Olean; another brother Sam James of Shinglehouse; 23 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Mr. James was a life member if the Shinglehouse Volunteer Fire Company.
