SHINGLEHOUSE, PA---Mona L. Resig, 84, of Shinglehouse, PA, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2014 at Jones
Memorial Hospital, Wellsville, NY, after a brief illness.
Born September 7, 1930 in Hollidaysburg, she was a daughter of Henry C. and Ova N. Redden Adams. On September 10,
1949 in Duncansville, she married George W. Resig, who passed away March 4, 2003.
She was a graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. Mrs. Resig was employed as a secretary at the former Clark Brothers in
Olean and later as a secretary at the former Clair Manufacturing in Olean. She was then employed as a secretary at CONAP,
which is now Cytec Industries in Olean, from where she retired.
Mrs. Resig was a member of the Shinglehouse United Methodist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher and
a Communion steward. She was a member of the Circle One women’s group of the church. She enjoyed knitting and was a
great cook.
Surviving are a daughter, Cathy E. (Gregory) Cone of Shinglehouse; a son, Steven D. (Deborah) Resig of Shinglehouse; six
grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; a brother, Bernard E. (Barbara) Adams of Shinglehouse; and several nieces and
nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Resig was predeceased by a daughter, Kelly J. Little; and a sister, Vivian E.
Bess.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Saturday at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, 118 South Union
Street, Shinglehouse, PA where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 28, 2014 with the Rev. Becky L.
Edwards, pastor of the Shinglehouse United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery,
Shinglehouse, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shinglehouse United Methodist Church, PO Box 296, Shinglehouse, PA
16748.
