Alberta E. Lunn “beloved mother and grandmother”

Shinglehouse, PA---Alberta E. Lunn, 86, of Shinglehouse, PA, died Thursday, January 22, 2009 at Bradford Regional Medical Center, Bradford, PA, after a short illness.

Born December 5, 1922 in Bolivar, NY, she was a daughter of Mark E. and Ruth E. Sprester Dickerson. On December 8, 1938 in West Clarksville, NY, she married Raymond C. Lunn, who died on August 7, 1990.

Mrs. Lunn moved from Shinglehouse to Fort Meyers, Florida to Bolivar, NY to Springville, NY, returning to live in Shinglehouse.

She had been employed by the Olean Tile Plant for 15 years and later worked for the Shell Factory Store in Fort Meyers and then a dress shop in Florida.

Mrs. Lunn was a member of Grace Bible Independent Baptist Church in Shinglehouse. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and cooking.

Surviving are three daughters, Ann E. (David) Wetzel of Shinglehouse, PA, Nancy L. (Donald) Phillips of Shinglehouse, PA, and Patricia Jean (Russell) Gard of Forestville, NY; eleven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one brother, Mickey (Reba) Dickerson of Shinglehouse, PA; one sister, Shirley Avard of Hillsboro, Mississippi; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Lunn was preceded in death by three brothers, Norman Dickerson, Leo Dickerson, and Emmitt Dickerson; and one sister, Freda Langworthy.

Friends may call on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse, PA where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2009. The Rev. Roger N. Hain, pastor of Grace Bible Independent Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the East Sharon Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Bible Independent Baptist Church, 392 Coon Crossing Road, Shinglehouse, PA 16748.
