Obituary

SHINGLEHOUSE, PA---Edna L. Olmstead, 87, of Shinglehouse, passed away after a long illness at home with her loving
family at her side on Tuesday, January 1, 2013, under the care of Potter County Hospice.
Born March 7, 1925 in Cedarburg, Wisconsin, she was a daughter of Charles and Idona Margeson Brabham. On September
3, 1942 in Millport, she married Cecil N. Olmstead who passed away on March 30, 2010.
Mrs. Olmstead attended the former East Sharon Country School. She, along with her husband, owned and operated the
Cecil Olmstead Water Well Drilling Company in Shinglehouse.
She enjoyed gardening, quilting, crocheting and traveling.
Surviving are three daughters, Carolyn L. (Richard) Calkins of Salcha, Alaska, Dorothy M. Jackson and Linda M. (Thomas)
Tronetti, both of Port Allegany; ten grandchildren, Patrick Warnick, Robert Warnick, Theresa Wilder, Greg Warnick, Tina
Warnick, Tammy Warnick, Michelle Dubots, Lynette Davis, Jeannie Jackson, and Kenny Calkins; thirteen greatgrandchildren;
a great-great-grandson; a brother, James (Violet) Brabham of Houston, TX; four sisters, Bertha (Dominic)
Capito and Roberta Blanchard, both of Olean, Beatrice (Arnold) Harvey and Phyllis (Lloyd) Austin, both of Shinglehouse; and
several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Olmstead was predeceased by a daughter, Bernice J. Olmstead; a son, C.
Kenneth Olmstead; two grandsons, Michael Calkins and John Calkins; three sisters, Catherine Scott, Helen Cornelius, and
Pearl Brabham; and two brothers, George Brabham and Charles Brabham.
Friends may call at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, 118 South Union Street, Shinglehouse, PA on Friday, January 4,
2013 from noon to 2pm at which time funeral services will follow with the Rev. Russell J. Horning, pastor of the First Baptist
Church, Shinglehouse, officiating. Burial will be in East Sharon Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Charles Cole Home Health and Hospice, 1001 East Second Street,
Coudersport, PA 16915.
