Albert A. Mulkin

PIONEER IN POTTER COUNTY GAS BUSINESS, DIES IN FLA.

Albert Augustus Mulkin, 91, died at his home in Fort Myers, Fla., July 19, 1944.

Mr. Mulkin, pioneer in the gas business in Potter county, was superintendent of the United Natural Gas Company of Shinglehouse for many years. About 50 years ago he was instrumental in laying the first gas pipe line from Potter county to Elmira, N.Y.

Mr. Mulkin was born at East Sharon on March 14, 1853, and was married to Eva Stevens of Shinglehouse. To them were born three children: Percy and Claude Mulkin and Mrs. Ward Handley.

A member of the Coudersport Cinsistory for 40 years, Mr. Mulkin was the last remaining member of the Sharon Lodge of Shinglehouse.
the body was brought to Shinglehouse Mondat afternoon and interred in the family plot in Maple Grove cemetery.
