Well Known Horse Run Farmer Passed Away April 28, Aged 56 Years.


Don Sutherland, a life long resident on Horse Run, died at his farm home about one o'clock Tuesday morning, following a long illness of a complication of diseases, says the Shinglehouse Mail. He was badly injured several years ago while working on an oil lease and has been a cripple ever since.

He was born and had always resided in that vicinity, and the greater part of his life was spent in the farming and teaming on the oil leases in that section. He was a hard working man, a good citizen and neighbor and well thought of by all. During his long illness he was tenderly cared for by his sons and his housekeeper, Mrs. Hursch.

We (typo in obit) was aged 56 Years and is survived by five sons; Linden, William, Robert, Darwin and Wayne, and a half sister, Mrs. Ernest Howell of Knapps Creek.

The funeral was held at the house at two o'clock Thursday afternoon, and the burial was made in Maple Grove cemetery in Shinglehouse.
