Old Resident of Eleven Mile Valley Died Friday, Aged 79 Years. Funeral and Burial Held Monday.


Mrs. Elizabeth Kemp passed away at her farm home at Eleven Mile Friday morning following it brief illness of pneumonia. Her illness lasted only about 36 hours.

Elizabeth Elliott was born at Alfred, N.Y., 79 years ago next May, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Elliott. She was united in marriage on her birthday in May 1866 to Obe Kemp at Millport by 'Squire Rodney Nichols, and they began housekeeping in the home where she has since resided. Mr. Kemp was killed while blowing- out stumps on his farm in 1908.

Mrs. Kemp was a dutiful and loving mother and wife, a noble Christian Woman and dearly loved in the family circle. The family have the sympathy of the entire community.

She is survived by six children, Mrs. Orville Green of Andover, Miss Emma Kemp at home. Jesse Kemp of Shinglehouse, Mrs. Lon Perkins and Mrs. Harry Jones of Eleven Mile, 16 grandchildren and' 32 great grandchildren. Also one sister, Mrs. Bela Kemp of Eleven Mile.

The funeral was held at the house at two o'clock Monday afternoon with Rev. Hamilton officiating, There was a profusion of beautiful flowers.

The Interment was made in the family plot in the Chrystal cemetery. The Hunt. Morton Co. were the funeral directors.

Among the relatives from away were Lew Hitchcock and wife, Ralph Francis Archie and Harry Kemp and Chester Green and wife of Andover. Lew and Harry Perkins and wives of Fulmer valley, Merton Dunshie and wife and Ford Green of Bolivar, Mr. and Mrs. Milo Cole of Richburg, Frank and Jessie Dunshie of Olean, Lee Dunshie and Mrs Ellery Dunshie of East Sharon.
