Ethel D. Kemp


Mrs. Ethel D. Kemp, 72, of Shinglehouse, died Wednesday (May 5, 1982) in her home following a long illness.

Born March 30, 1910, at Hebron Summit, she was a daughter of Owen o. and Mayble Hile Densmore. On May 30, 1932, at Rew, she married Murray E. Kemp, who survives.

Mrs. Kemp was a graduate of Coudersport High School, class of 1927, and received her RN degree from Bradford Hospital Training School in 1931. She had attended the Hebron Center Union Church.

She was a lifetime resident of the area and had served as a nurse in Potter County Memorial Hospital and later in Cole Memorial Hospital from 1956 until her retirement in 1975. She had served as night supervisor for 16 years and returned as a substitute in 1980.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, David Kemp, Shinglehouse, and Neil Kemp, Pennsburg; two daughters, June Kemp, Shinglehouse, and Mrs. Robert (Jane) Rice, Millport; seven grandchildren; a brother, G. Robert Densmore, Rew; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held at the convenience of the family. Burial was in Eleven Mile Cemetery, Chrystal.

In lieu of flowers, memorials ay be made to the Shinglehouse Emergency Fund, In care of Regina Wise, Shinglehouse, or to the Shinglehouse Volunteer Ambulance Service.
