Connie L. Brenan Beloved Wife, Mother and Grandmother

Duke Center- Connie L. Brenan, 72, of Duke Center, passed away Friday (July 6th, 2012) in her home following a long illness.

Born August 27th, 1940 in Keating Twp. she was a daughter of Ward and Pansy Lawton Swift. On December 19th, 1968 in Portville she married Jerry L. Brenan, who survives.

Connie attended Portville area schools and had resided in Duke Center since 1968.

Mrs. Brenan was employed by Acme Electric in Allegany and Aero-Vox in Olean for many years; later, along with her husband, she had been employed in oil production for the Norris Oil Co. in Duke Center until her retirement. Connie enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren; she loved pulling oil wells as well as watching and feeding the birds and playing video games. She also enjoyed lawn work and flower and vegetable gardening.

Surviving in addition to her husband is one son, Tom Curtin of Duke Center; two daughters, Darlene (Ted Jr.) Hall of Portville and Carol (John) Cramer of Rixford; two grandchildren, Josh and Devin Hall; one brother, Ward (Nancy) Swift of Leola, PA; two sisters, Carolyn (Dean) Shores of Port Allegany and Joann (Larry) Edwards of Magnolia, TX.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Curtin in 1959, and a brother, William Swift. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family with the Rev. Glenn Hamilton officiating. Burial will be in Rathbone Cemetery, Coneville, PA.
